Scapegoat - Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau

Well I guess ya heard it here first, looks like the Minneapolis PD, in its race to be snuggly-feely, appointed a young man from Somalia to its force. Did that really have anything to do with Justine Ruszczyk being gunned down? One would have to peek at the recruiting and training records. Proof is in the pudding. Did Mayor Betsy Hodges almost grin during her press conference? Yikes. Where do we go from here? A jury could perhaps convict Officer Mohamed Nor. But wait, are some going to feel that the officer who got off for shooting Philando Castile was acquitted because Castile was black? Nor is black man, is that why a jury will finally reach a verdict? Oh, and Nor isn't talking, nobody had body cameras on, and the mums word from the police as usual.

Well one things for sure, most of us really don't care, unless it's our loved ones being gunned down. Praise be to the community activists who are demanding change. Gotta love 'em, because they are our only hope for better policing in the future.

I'm a couple years late in reading these, but both of your books are really good! It was hard to put them down.....until life got in the way. Having grown up in a small town and now raising a family in a small town, it is very easy to see how people in positions of authority can and do use their power to their benefit. Your insight really brings to light that these kinds of things can and unfortunately do happen. It really makes one think. Looking forward to reading your next book.

Officer Mohamed Nor

I was hanging tight hoping old ISIS didn't claim responsibility for Mohamed's killing of an unarmed women in her pj's. One has to wonder if Mohamed was set up to fail in the race for the Minneapolis PD to hire a Somali immigrant. Helluva price to pay if you're Justine. I mean her life for a diverse police department. Now we're gonna see the good ol' folks educated in police matters, from watching many hours of movies and TV shows, slip onto a jury and we all know what the verdict'll be. At least communities find it easy to part with taxpayer cash and dump money on wrongful death suits. Minneapolis is gonna part with a ton of loot and Nor is gonna scoot into the sunset.

Officer Mohamed Nor

This question from Troy yesterday. What's your take on this last police shooting?

I haveta assume this was an accidental killing. Dark alley, loud bang and then the gun goes off. However them cops are making it hard for juries to continue to find 'em innocent. Now we have a cop taking the 5th. Strange times indeed. Matters to consider. . .

Now that a black cop has gunned down an unarmed, pajama clad, white woman, is the black community going to get riled up?

Are our communities recruiting assertive, and not aggressive folks, to police America's streets?

Should officers be held accountable for their mistakes as others are? For example, truck drivers are routinely cited for log book infractions after accidents, even if is not their fault, as in being rear-ended?

Do cops know how to play the system, as in pleading the 5th in the interest of self-preservation? I mean every time a common citizen does the same thing everyone plays the assume game i.e. they're guilty.

If this lady was armed as per the NRA's mandate, would she be alive today?

Are common folks ever going to really give a damn until their ox is gored or shot?

Has America become the next 'Killing Field'?

Who is going to be the next gunned down citizen?

Rest assured law and order types, the jury will find this cop innocent.

Man, a cop like this has to make it hard on juries to keep finding them innocent. Ya think?

Wisdom

One thing mankind certainly will not come up with is a cult that believes the world is going to end in the next five minutes. Many thanks to the fine book lovers of Durango for having me be a part of their day.

Points to Consider When Pointin' Fingers

This post is from yesterday regarding North Korea. So what do ya think?

Good point to ponder. So who exactly is evil one?

TRENTON, N.J. — The family of the late reggae icon and marijuana activist Peter Tosh is seeking answers after they say his son was left in a coma following an attack in a New Jersey jail, where he was serving a six-month sentence on pot possession charges.
Jawara McIntosh has been hospitalized since suffering traumatic brain injuries in the attack in February at the Bergen County jail, where he was after pleading guilty to marijuana possession, his family said.

Is North Korea Responsible?

What do you think readers? Is North Korea a really bad country or are we all a part of the equation? This is what the the U.S. President thinks. . .

U.S. President Donald Trump blamed "the brutality of the North Korean regime" for Warmbier's death. South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who had advocated talks with the North, said Pyongyang had a "heavy responsibility" in the events leading up to the University of Virginia student's death.

Readers thoughts regarding my novel, Boy in The Vest

This from a beta reader regarding Boy in The Vest . . . This story gives a lot of food for thought regarding terror attacks and the motivations thereof.  The partial gives a picture of ignorance and almost sheep like obedience that exists in the jihadists desire to reach heaven through bloodshed. It is sad and also angering how people’s lives can be taken to mean so little.
